TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Acceptance

By using Face Witness, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter this agreement under the laws that apply to you.

2. Purpose of the service

Face Witness provides tools for visually assembling facial composites. A result is an approximate visual reconstruction, not a photograph, a confirmed identity, evidence, or a guarantee of resemblance.

Do not make decisions about guilt, detention, employment, credit, or other significant rights solely from a composite created with the service.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for accurate registration information, password security, and activity under your account. You must not impersonate another person, share access for abuse, or attempt to access another account.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the service for unlawful surveillance, stalking, discrimination, harassment, doxxing, impersonation, false accusations, privacy violations, or infringement of intellectual-property rights. You may not attack the service, bypass restrictions, introduce malicious code, or use automation to overload the infrastructure.

5. User-created material

You retain rights in material you lawfully create and are responsible for having the rights and legal basis to use and publish it. Face Witness does not claim ownership of downloaded composites. Do not present a composite as the confirmed identity of a real person without proper verification and a lawful basis.

6. Intellectual property

The site, interface, feature library, design, name, and software are protected by applicable law. You may use the service for its intended purpose, but may not copy, sell, distribute, or create derivative versions of the service itself without permission.

7. Third-party services and payments

Google sign-in is also governed by Google’s terms and policies. Card payments are processed by OCTO or YooKassa on the provider’s secure page. The price and currency are shown before payment, and full access is activated only after the payment provider confirms a successful transaction. Face Witness does not receive full card details. Mandatory consumer rights and applicable refund rules remain in effect.

8. Availability and disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free results, resemblance accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. The service is not a substitute for professional forensic, legal, or law-enforcement expertise.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Face Witness is not liable for indirect loss, loss of data, reputational harm, or decisions made from a result. Mandatory consumer rights and liability that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

10. Suspension and changes

Access may be restricted for violations, security threats, or lawful requirements. We may change the service and these Terms; material revisions will be posted here with a new effective date.

11. Applicable law and contact

These Terms are governed by the law determined by mandatory rules and a court with jurisdiction, without limiting non-waivable user rights. For questions, use the support address published on the Google OAuth consent screen for Face Witness.
